Brian: cool cool. Just give me a sec to set up things
Brian: Quite a while passes. No word.
Brian: Eventually, however, you start to hear tell that the holy Artyom's sister has been abducted.
Brian: People here kind of remember you though, so you aren't implicated immediately.
Brian: One, day, while Cerim is at the inn, there is a knock on the door.
Sir Regelgien: Come on in, it's not locked
Brian: Inside steps a knight, clearly labled as a member of the Order of Blood
Sir Vilrays: Thank you.
Sir Vilrays: I seek Sir Regelgien.
Sir Regelgien: Aye
Sir Vilrays: His holiness has sent me on a quest to deal with some bandits with a hostage. Have you seen any such activity lately?
Sir Regelgien: Nay. I think it's rumor if you ask me.
Sir Vilrays: Well I'll be asking around. These scum wanted to be noticed, that's for sure.
Brian: The knight starts asking around amoung the few patrons around before making it to Cerim. Does Cerim do anything in the meantime?
Cerim Potter: (( I'll finish my bear and head out the back door to take a leak. ))
Jannik: you ate a whole bear?
Jannik: :o
Brian: You wander out, and you hear the clanking of a few more metal suits.
Cerim Potter: (( beer* ))
Cerim Potter: (( I'll post up against the wall here and take a look ))
Cerim Potter: (( at what's goin on ))
Brian: You see five other knights. Two are asking around, three are just loitering.
Cerim Potter: (( Don't the knights have restricted jurisdiction in these parts? ))
Brian: The knights of the Order of Blood are more vague in jursidiction. Eryson was specifically forbidden to send the general army, but the church might be able to get away with this without pissing off the king or Gorewood.
Cerim Potter: (( This isn't good. ))
Cerim Potter: (( If I need some goods, do I need to rp that exchange? ))
Brian: naw. Just the risk of getting questioned
Cerim Potter: (( is there a general store or something in town? ))
Brian: yup
Brian: I'll even let you say you just went shopping there a couple days ago if you just need more food
Cerim Potter: (( I need supplies to write a letter ))
Cerim Potter: (( presumably we could trade game for what we need ))
Brian: You've at least got berries and leather. I'm not going to stop you with paper at this point
Cerim Potter: (( cool. Let's say our camp is to the south. ))
Cerim Potter: (( I'd also like to pick up a couple nice goblets if I could. ))
Brian: I would have assumed you got those on day one
Brian: or at Shavorne
Cerim Potter: (( okay cool. ))
Cerim Potter: (( In that case, I'll mount my horse and ride east. ))
Brian: alone?
Cerim Potter: (( hopefully. ))
Cerim Potter: (( I'll be checking behind me to make sure I have nobody tailing me ))
Cerim Potter: (( after a couple miles, I'll stop ))
Brian: k. I'll say you weren't tracked, because at this point I just want to know what you're up to...
Cerim Potter: (( From there, I'll loop around south and head back to camp. ))
Brian: ok, so you're back at camp
Cerim Potter: (( now it's time for the letter. ))
Cerim Potter: (( well, first things first... ))
Cerim Potter: (( I beckon Aaron to speak with me away from Emita. ))
Cerim Potter: It looks like things aren't going how we expected. The Order of Blood is sweeping through Eastmark.
Cerim Potter: Artyom may not be coming at all.
Aaron: That's ... concerning.
Cerim Potter: Very much so. We may need to take extra precautions to ensure he arrives.
Cerim Potter: Perhaps a letter from his sister would do the trick.
Aaron: That sounds convincing enough, maybe also give him an ultimatum and tell him that we are tired of his knights.
Cerim Potter: Indeed. You can have his sister write what you say. We just need to make sure the message is just right before you do so.
Aaron: So, what should the message be exactly?
Cerim Potter: We should tell him that we want to meet with him. We have his sister and aren't afraid to harm her if he doesn't heed our instructions.
Cerim Potter: If we leave the letter to be found by someone in Eastmark, surely it will get back to Artyom in time.
Cerim Potter: We will have to keep in mind that several people will read whatever we write in this letter. We need to make sure that won't matter.
Cerim Potter: Putting in a specific place could be dangerous for that reason. We'll need to make sure we aren't there until the agreed upon time. No doubt the Order will immediately flood whatever place we indicate.
Aaron: Do you know of any codewords only Artyom would understand?
Cerim Potter: I don't think so. The best solution I can muster is to put in a specific date and note that if we see any knights, we'll make Emita suffer.
Aaron: Good enough, I suppose.
Cerim Potter: The question is: where and when should we meet?
Cerim Potter: I'm thinking someplace... mysterious.
Cerim Potter: You know, I may have an idea.
Aaron: What is it?
Cerim Potter: remember that lake we visited in Gorwood?
Aaron: Yeah.
Cerim Potter: It had some sort of mysterious fountain and such on the island in the lake. Perhaps there would be good.
Aaron: How would we ever get everything on there?
Cerim Potter: Surely we could get a raft of some sort together.
Aaron: Hmm ...
Cerim Potter: We won't need the horses and we haven't got much to carry.
Aaron: I guess it would also secure us from being overrun by knights ...
Cerim Potter: Indeed. With any luck, the orcs will forbid the Order from marching through their territory.
Brian: This is probably a good stopping point, which can give you guys some time to haggle about the exact wording of the letter...
Jannik: stopping point as in end of session or break?
Brian: Is there anything you want to do after the letter writing? It seems we are getting right back to a waiting scene after this.
Jannik: idk honestly
Brian: well, I'll still be around to play for a bit if you guys have a plan, but if your just going to wait on the player that isn't here right now it's on me to get his reaction to keep the campaign moving.
