DM:
We start with you two, about to enter
this city's local Ordos HQ
Guard:
Identification?
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Officer Constance Stendatem. I've got
an ID here somewhere...
DM:
You can take ten on a search check to
find your own badge
DM:
Side note: normally there is an
officer standing guard, but these guys seem to just be army
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Is something going on? Ordinary
military doesn't usually get posted here.
Guard:
We were call in, ma'am. Ordos are all
out on dispatches.
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Any idea why?
Guard:
You haven't figured that out yourself?
Guard:
*nods twards Ignatious*
Officer Constance Stendatem:
There are more like him?
Ignatius Stendatem:
Do you know what's going on with me?
DM:
Officer Septum mentioned that they
were popping up all over the place. That was why you origionally
left to HQ, but then you came back when sextus reported that
liquid men were at your house
Christopher:
i don't remember septum's original
report
Christopher:
but sextus i do recall
DM:
I will send it to you on fb
Christopher:
That was Ignatius reappearing.
DM:
Nobody replies to Ignatious, by the way
thepeople:
i guess you guys are reading the
report before continuing?
Christopher:
and we are good now
DM:
alright, the guards wait for you to do
somthing
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Well, I'm bringing him in.
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Maybe we can shed some light on this.
Guard:
Very well.
Ordos Officer:
Officer Septum.
Ordos Officer:
*salutes*
Officer Constance Stendatem:
I...
Officer Constance Stendatem:
I'm Officer Stendatem...
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Thank you for the salute, though.
Ordos Officer:
Sorry ma'am. Been a long night.
Officer Constance Stendatem:
I can imagine. Sounds like things have
been busy.
Ordos Officer:
I am assinged to patrol. Need to keep
searching for etherials.
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+7 => 4 + 7 = 11
DM:
you hear noise in one of the larger
offices here...
Old Woman:
I swear she was my mother!
Officer Ekkhardt:
We have heard people swear many
things, maam.
DM:
do you guys do anything, or keep
listening?
Christopher:
ignatius suffers from a lost sheet
Christopher:
It WAS on his token, he says.
thepeople:
just give your best guess then i guess
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+1 => 10 + 1 = 11
Officer Constance Stendatem:
This... probably requires some
explaining.
Officer Septum:
What happend?
Adam has connected.
Adam:
Is this my original token?
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Ignatius would seem to be back from
the dead, in a rather different form.
Officer Septum:
What?
Officer Heintz:
Sir, you cannot ignore the evidence.
What daemon would have taken the time to learn one woman's past so
well?
Officer Ekkhardt:
Right now I wish I hadn't shot it,
just to prove you wrong...
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Whatever's going on here, I think we
could learn a lot by talking to Ignatius.
Officer Septum:
Just to be clear here, Ignatious was
your husband when we first met, right?
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Yes.
Officer Septum:
Who has been dead for eight years?
Officer Ekkhardt:
Come in.
Officer Ekkhardt:
WHAT THE?!?!?
Ignatius Stendatem:
Excuse me, I couldn't help but
overhear.
* DM rolls: 1d20+6 => 18 + 6 = 24
* DM rolls: 3d6 => 10
Ignatius Stendatem:
OW!
DM:
it rips through your gelatinous form,
leaving a permenant hole
Ignatius Stendatem:
What's the meaning of this?!
Officer Constance Stendatem:
If we could refrain from firing off
our weapons without thinking, gentlemen, we might be able to get
to the bottom of this.
Officer Ekkhardt:
What this one supposed to be in your
custidy?
Officer Septum:
What is going on in here?
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Officer Quick-draw here just shot a
promising questioning prospect.
Ignatius Stendatem:
He should be arrested for attempted
murder!
Guard:
What is the situation? Do you need
help?
Ignatius Stendatem:
I could use a medic, yeah.
Officer Septum:
I don't think any medic is gonna be
able to help you, son.
Officer Heintz:
While you are here, are you ready to
answer some questions?
Ignatius Stendatem:
Well, I've got a gaping wound, but why
not? A round of 20 questions sounds lovely right about now.
Officer Septum:
First, your report constance.
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Ignatius just appeared, apparently. He
was around my... our... house.
Officer Constance Stendatem:
He can probably tell you more than I.
Ignatius Stendatem:
I landed on the roof of the house
after falling from an exlposion caused by the destruction of a
prison I and many other people were locked away in.
Officer Heintz:
Prison? Explain.
Ignatius Stendatem:
I'm not sure I understand it myself.
At first, I was alive, fighting with some Xenos when I was killed,
but for some reason I was instantly taken to a strange island full
of other allegedly dead folk. We seemed doomed to be trapped there
for eternity, having our life force siphoned by the Wishmaster
until a great arrow piered the walls binding us. As I crawled out
to the edge of the boundaries, I saw that we were in reality very
small and being kept inside a bottle. Soon after, the bottle
presumably exploded, and the next thing I remember is landing on
the roof of my house in this form.
Officer Septum:
Let me fill you in on the full report
surrounding Ignatious. It may be relevent...
DM:
He pretty much rehashes all of the
first campaign to these guys.
DM:
About 15 minutes later...
Guard:
Identification?
Hunter:
Here
thepeople:
I show him my identification
Guard:
Head on in.
Hunter:
Thank you
thepeople:
do i see them as i head down the ahll,
or is the door close?
DM:
by now they aren't still in the halway
thepeople:
yeah, but i can se them through the
door right?
Hunter:
Hello, septum, and nice to see you
consta... The hell!.. sigh, theres one of ignatius too. Do any of
you know whats going on yet
Hunter:
If not, then i have alot of
interesting news to report
Ignatius Stendatem:
YOU.
Officer Septum:
Everyone important get in the room.
The rest of you have dispatches on the front desk awaiting you!
Ignatius Stendatem:
*throw punch*
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Boys!
* Adam rolls: 1d20+4+3 => 10 + 4 + 3 = 17
Hunter:
Well you seem to be atleast an
accurate representation fo ignatius. If so, cant blame you for the
punch. But I have things that must be done now. If you are what
you seem to be, I would be glad to apoligize to you later. But
now, i must give a report
thepeople:
is anything done, or should i enter
the room, and explain everyhting
DM:
unless Iggy smacks you again...
Adam:
I'll stay my fist this time.
thepeople:
what was the anme of the festival
again?
DM:
Hallow's Day is what you were
rehearsing for. Right now it is late in the night of Hallow's eve
Hunter:
I was taking part in the preperations
for the Hallow's Day reenactment, when this man here appeared. He
is a xenos from my old village who went by the name of Fisher, but
there he was claiming that he was Macharious, having come back
from the dead. THen to how his powers, he seemingly mad it rain
and formed liquid men who appeared to be those now dead. During
this time he continued to try to convince me and those near me
that he was indeed the true Macharious but i remained suspicious
and eventually recognized his voice to be Fisher's. After calming
down the liquid men he seemed to cause to appear, he listened to
my wishes to have him and the others arrested and brought to a
place where magic could not be used. He still claims to be
Macharious despite me realizing who he was underneath the illusion.
Hunter:
I was hoping that someone else might
know more about what has been going on, is there any additional
information about this?
Stranger:
How else could I have done this?
Officer Septum:
The liquid men have been appearing all
over the place. In this city, and beyond.
Officer Constance Stendatem:
This is disturbing news.
Officer Ekkhardt:
While only some are hostile, many are
impersonating deceased relitives of those they encounter. I am
suspecting mind-reading is going on.
Officer Constance Stendatem:
I haven't sensed Ignatius doing
anything magical.
Officer Heintz:
And why can't they predict our actions
and avoid capture?
Officer Constance Stendatem:
And he certainly appears himself.
Hunter:
We dont know what they are, how this
came to be, and what magics were used, but, still, this is not
proof that you are macharious, something being unknown does not
prove the first explanation put forth
Ignatius Stendatem:
I dont' think you realize how
dehumanizing it is to be accused of not being who you are.
Officer Constance Stendatem:
I believe your mind is yours.
Officer Septum:
Ignatious, you should know just how
low daemons will sink to betray us...
Officer Constance Stendatem:
But that is CLEARLY not the end of it.
Ignatius Stendatem:
Wait a minute, did you say that other
"dead" people have been popping up?
Officer Septum:
All over the nation, from every place
with a telegraph.
thepeople:
please excuse me for a sec, sorry, ill
be back in minute
Ignatius Stendatem:
Then surely my father is out there! I
spoke to him when I was trapped in that bottle! Surely he knows
what sort of sorcery is at play here.
Officer Septum:
I'm sorry?
Hunter:
What bottle are you referring too?
Ignatius Stendatem:
My father. He's been involved with the
Wishmaster since before I was born. (I proceed to explain the
whole bottle thing to them and how my father was deep in trouble.)
thepeople:
is there anything specific i should
know, i forget what your father did if you spoke of it in the
first campaign, or do you mean hes jsut trapped in the bottle
still as far as you know and that.
thepeople:
is all there is too it
Adam:
Oh. sorry. I fogot you aren't up to
speed.
Adam:
Basically my father sold his and his
entire families souls to the Wishmaster in order to gain financial
success. After we died our souls were taken by the wishmaster and
we were basically put in the matrix, except it was only like a
half a mile in diameter. From the living's perspective we were
souls all stuffed into a magic bottle of the Wishmaster. When she
died, the bottle blew up.
Adam:
pretty much everyone who sold their
soul to the wishmaster was there. including constance's first
husband.
Hunter:
Well that is interesting, however,
while this may idetify those who are now these liquid men, we
still dont know how you became such, and, and im sorry fi you are
indeed real, but i must question it, if you are real or not
Officer Constance Stendatem:
By what definition?
Hunter:
By the definition that he has the mind
of Ignatius in full without being soem approximation conjured by
some entity
Adam:
How do you intend to verify that.
Ignatius Stendatem:
How do you intend to verify that?
Hunter:
Im sorry, I know this likely offends
you, but until it is proven, we must have a doubt, especially
since at least some of you were seemingly conjured by the actions
of a xenos that is known t have worshiped a powerful daemon
Officer Constance Stendatem:
That is certainly how he seems to be.
But that is a good question.
Hunter:
And the problem is, I odnt know how to
identify it. I just dont.
Ignatius Stendatem:
Is there not some sort of mind reading
magic that the Ordos has at it's disposal?
Officer Septum:
We do, but we can only pick up surface
thoughts. How would we prove that the whole mind is genuine?
Hunter:
In my mind there are several like
possiblities for what is occuring, one being that you are indeed
the souls who were given to the wishmaster and then given some
liquid form, with fisher here knowing ahead of time and rpetending
to summon you, he has summoned fake ones knowing what has happened
elsewhere across the land, in order to cause people to worship
this fake Macharious, or this is somehow all purpetrated by the
powerful daemon that fisher here worships.
Hunter:
or atleast had worshipped, there is
the possiblity that hte Daemon might have warped his mind to amke
him believe that he is indeed Macharious
Hunter:
The problem is, there ae so many
things, that we dont know, and we dont know how to figure them out
with much certainty
thepeople is disconnected.
You have disconnected.
Server started; please wait for map to
refresh.
Christopher has connected.
thepeople has connected.
Adam has connected.
thepeople:
did you guys read my last messages
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Any suggestions on that front, Septum?
Officer Constance Stendatem:
You've more experience than I.
thepeople:
it ended with me talking about how
there are so many things we dont know and how we cant find them
out with certainty, ive typed up lines before with others having
been disconnected before me noticing so i just wnat to make sure
that you read it
thepeople:
ok, thanks, sorry that i had to check
but the last time with brian that happened alot
Officer Septum:
I think the debate of if they are real
is not of prime importance right now. If that man acts like
Ignatious, that is good enough until we figure out if there are
any directly evil forces to deal with.
Officer Ekkhardt:
With all due respect sir, I disagree.
We need to eliminate all xenos to stay on the safe side on this
one.
Officer Constance Stendatem:
Including our officer?
Hunter:
While I do think that Fisher here
needs to be locked up in a location with an antimagic field, I
odnt believe we should eliminate him, he might have information
that could be of use. Even then he and other Xenos are not evil
creatures that need to be eliminated, they just are being tricked
in a horrible horible way, and when the chance exists, they should
be shown the truth instead of killed
Stranger:
My name is Macharious.
Hunter:
I understand your prejudice, and i
wont take offence from it, but except for being tricked xenos
arent really different from anyone else
Ordos Officer:
Officer Septum, we have a group
forming in the city. Burgomister wants you leading the strike
force on this one.
Officer Septum:
Looks like I need to leave you to sort
this one out on your own. Best of luck.
