Christopher has connected.
Boretos has connected.
Brian: ok, so I have pasta cooking, but this is what makes life fun
Boretos: I should make some too.
Brian: wanna meet back in 10?
Boretos: nopoe
Boretos: just cuz I should doesn't mean I will.
Brian: alright, well give me 30 seconds
Brian: ok
Brian: So you recall where we left off I assume. There is some downtime where God leaves your presence it seems, instructing you to stay here for the time being. I hav no idea what a couple would talk about at a time like this, but you finally have some time alone.
Brian: ish
Ignatius Stendatem: Welcome back to the land of the living. sort of.
Officer Constance Stendatem: I don't believe this is the land of the living.
Ignatius Stendatem: I don't know what this place is.
Ignatius Stendatem: Bliss, he calls it.
Ignatius Stendatem: Seems more unsettling than anything.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Seems we're in agreement.
Ignatius Stendatem: We may as well chat up the locals for information.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Indeed.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Don't expect to get anyhting more than cultbabble, though.
Ignatius Stendatem: You there. Your name?
Brian: sorry
Hero: Veriddian
Ignatius Stendatem: What are you doing here?
Verridian: I am awaiting my healing, and a chance to set things right.
Ignatius Stendatem: healing? What are you talking about?
* Christopher rolls: 2d6 => 7
Verridian: I am one of the black mist, as you are.
Ignatius Stendatem: (( are the other guys black mist too? ))
Ignatius Stendatem: (( I assume I can tell from looking at them. ))
Brian: they are
Brian: they appear to be several different races
Ignatius Stendatem: How long do you have to wait?
Verridian: I don't know
Ignatius Stendatem: How long have you been waiting?
Verridian: I have been here for about three days, I belive
Verridian: It's hard to tell in here.
Ignatius Stendatem: Who's been here longest?
Old Guy: I have.
Old Guy: I belive I am also the oldest of all.
Ignatius Stendatem: How many before you have been healed as you waited here?
Old Guy: None so far, but I have started to become whole again.
Ignatius Stendatem: Just by waiting here? Have you seen anyone leave this place?
Brian: you notice that his flesh is turning into a pale white.
Old Guy: Nobody has been here that long. It hasn't been long since we were returned from the dead.
Ignatius Stendatem: What do you think is going to happen to you once you're healed?
Old Guy: We help the others obtain afterlife.
Old Guy: You do know why we became this, right?
Ignatius Stendatem: Enlighten me.
Old Guy: We were all godless. I, as you, am one of the followers of Macharious. In rebelling against the gods, we foolishly cut off any hopes of life after death, and were cast into the void upon our endings.
Old Guy: For some reason, the dead have now returned, and are cursed to live this way until something is done about it.
Ignatius Stendatem: And the options are to join this God fellow or be destroyed by his minions?
Old Guy: I suppose you could leave, but why do you want to? does Macharious know of a better way to heal you?
Ignatius Stendatem: I have yet to ask him.
Old Guy: Look. I fought beside him for a long time. I know why you joined the cause, but the rebels just don't know what they are fighting for.
Old Guy: I think that it's best this way.
Ignatius Stendatem: Joined the cause? What cause? I haven't joined anybody.
Old Guy: Macharious? I have been told that those tools you have are what Macharian warriors use these days.
Old Guy: It's been a long time since I was alive.
Ignatius Stendatem: It's not as if I chose the country of my birth.
Ignatius Stendatem: All I know is the Macharian Empire.
Old Guy: Empire?
Old Guy: The kid got far then.
Verridian: What are you both talking about?
Ignatius Stendatem: A bit of political history, it seems.
Old Guy: But I suppose the mortal world isn't really my concern now...
Ignatius Stendatem: But you plan on defending it from the black mist folk.
Verridian: We aren't hurting anyone!
Ignatius Stendatem: You think they will surrender willingly?
* Christopher rolls: 2d6 => 8
Old Guy: Wait, who is surrendering?
Ignatius Stendatem: The other black mist, apparently.
Old Guy: If we give them an alternative, why not?
Old Guy: I for one was happy to come here rather than be damned as a daemon.
Ignatius Stendatem: Just because potatoes are your favorite food, doesn't mean everyone else loves them.
Brian: He just seems to stare at you, failing to understand what you mean.
Ignatius Stendatem: (( I'm just gonna walk away. ))
* Christopher rolls: 2d6 => 12
Brian: fair enough
Brian: yo begin to walk down the cavern, and you notice a light, almost like a fog, permeating the room.
Brian: You feel like your wounds are healing instantly (heal 1 damage per round)
Ignatius Stendatem: (( are we in initiative? ))
Brian: no. actually, just heal it all.
Brian: do you continue exploring?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( yeah ))
Brian: you come into a hall, with a knob on either side.
Brian: they go down, so you need to enter them to see inside...
Brian: is Constance coming?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( he's afk, it seems. ))
Brian: In this room, you see a strange rune on the ground, only half finished it seems
Brian: great
Ignatius Stendatem: (( I check out the other room ))
Brian: ok, both of you make listen checks
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+2 => 12 + 2 = 14
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+7 => 7 + 7 = 14
Brian: you hear hushed voices speaking
Ignatius Stendatem: (( from which direction? ))
Brian: from further inside that knob.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Hang back.
Voice 1: I am worthy! I have had unwavering faith to God, and passed every challange you gave me!
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+2 => 4 + 2 = 6
Christopher: welp
Christopher: so much for stealth
* Brian rolls: 1d20+1 => 20 + 1 = 21
* Brian rolls: 1d20+1 => 15 + 1 = 16
Brian: yeah...
Christopher: WELL THEN
Voice 2: Who goes there?
Ignatius Stendatem: Ignatius and Constace Stendatem.
Voice 2: What odd names...
Ignatius Stendatem: I see they don't teach manners in Bliss.
Voice 2: Sorry, just a little jumpy. What do you need?
Ignatius Stendatem: Information.
Voice 2: Then ask God. It is he who knows all, not I.
Ignatius Stendatem: What are you doing here?
Voice 2: One of our number is to be sent of a mission, and he has left it to us to decide who.
Ignatius Stendatem: What sort of mission?
Voice 2: We know not.
Ignatius Stendatem: (( I'm gonna walk away. ))
Brian: uhh, ok
Brian: the hall seems to simply end here.
God: Restless?
Ignatius Stendatem: I'm trapped in a tiny cave. Why wouldn't I be?
God: My domain is mostly stone, except where I create open space. Do you wish to go somewhere?
Ignatius Stendatem: Is there anywhere to go?
God: Not as I see. Why not relax and heal? Why not enjoy your wife's company?
God: You have work ahead of you, as you are aware
Ignatius Stendatem: I'd like to go now.
Officer Constance Stendatem: (I push against the walls)
Brian: the walls do not give
God: You are not yet healed. Are you willing to take the risk?
Ignatius Stendatem: What risk would that be?
God: Of being destroyed. Your body is not as imortal as your soul.
Ignatius Stendatem: What do you mean?
Officer Constance Stendatem: That describes literally everyone.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Good job.
God: If you enter battle for any reason, and you are destroyed, I will not be able to return you until this curse has been undone across all the world.
God: If you wait until you are once again living, then you will find yourself unhindered by even death itself.
Ignatius Stendatem: That sounds too good to be true.
God: And what if I had told you that your first death was not final? that you would not be free from this world's worries after your passing?
God: You are very confindent in your place in this world for one who is already beyond the grave.
Officer Constance Stendatem: What better time is there to be confident?
Ignatius Stendatem: How long will this healing take?
God: only a few days.
God: It will also make it easier to show the potentials of my gift to the others.
Officer Constance Stendatem: So why not then continue restoring the old man?
Officer Constance Stendatem: Why couldn't he be your flagship?
God: I would like more than one...
Officer Constance Stendatem: And so you promote Ignatius to the top of the queue?
Officer Constance Stendatem: Seems fishy.
Ignatius Stendatem: And at what price does this gift from you demand?
God: None. I simply wish to see these people put to a proper afterlife.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Of your own design and to your own benefit, doubtless.
Ignatius Stendatem: You mean, if I stay here, I won't be able to go home?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( sense motive ))
God: I implore you not to give up so soon.
Brian: roll it
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+7 => 11 + 7 = 18
Officer Constance Stendatem: Yeah, dodging the question like that doesn't do much to instill confidence.
Brian: you sense no deception
Ignatius Stendatem: Take me back.
Ignatius Stendatem: (( I hand Constance the scroll and totem. ))
Ignatius Stendatem: Reveal yourselves, voices.
Writhor: You again?
Writhor: who... what are you?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( I draw my sword. ))
Brian: roll init, yall
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+3 => 10 + 3 = 13
* Brian rolls: 1d20 => 11
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+2 => 6 + 2 = 8
Brian: alright, go
Ignatius Stendatem: (( charge ))
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+9 => 6 + 9 = 15
Brian: hit
* Boretos rolls: 1d8+4 => 8 + 4 = 12
Brian: he falls down dead
Brian: they channel
* Brian rolls: 1d6 => 1
* Brian rolls: 1d6 => 1
Brian: Chris?
* Christopher rolls: 1d6 => 2
Brian: is that turn? you have a lot saved up
Christopher: yeah
Christopher: it's not terribly helpful here
Brian: ok, Iggy
Ignatius Stendatem: (( charge ))
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+9 => 8 + 9 = 17
* Boretos rolls: 1d8+4 => 3 + 4 = 7
Brian: almost dead
Brian: the one you charged steps back and self heals
* Brian rolls: 2d6 => 12
Brian: the other channels again
* Brian rolls: 1d6 => 2
Brian: Chris
Christopher: It be shotgun time.
Christopher: ...
Christopher: that looks like no cone i ever saw
Brian: good enough. roll for hit
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+4 => 17 + 4 = 21
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+4 => 3 + 4 = 7
Christopher: Guy closer is totally boned.
Christopher: Would he be taking 5d8 or 4d8?
Brian: 4d8
* Christopher rolls: 4d8 => 22
Christopher: I think he asploded.
Brian: that he did
Ignatius Stendatem: (( charge ))
Brian: next guy?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( nvm ))
Brian: wait, did the shotgun have a cone last time?
Christopher: iiiiii don't remember
Christopher: i think?
Christopher: not sure
Christopher: doesn't really matter either way in this instance though
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+7 => 19 + 7 = 26
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+7 => 19 + 7 = 26
Brian: screw it, you kill the guy
* Boretos rolls: 2d8+8 => 14 + 8 = 22
Christopher: DECAPITATION
Boretos: he esploded
Brian: ok, now what are you going to do?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( screw with the runes. ))
Brian: you just draw crap, or what?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( is there a writing untensil laying around? I'll just smudge and erase it otherwise. ))
Brian: there is some chalk
Brian: Constance, any actions?
Ignatius Stendatem: Can you make anything of this?
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+1 => 9 + 1 = 10
Christopher: probably not
Brian: it contains a lot of transmutation and force
Brian: you hear a voice, this time coming from outside in the hallway...
God: Now that wasn't very nice...
Brian: roll init
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+2 => 15 + 2 = 17
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+3 => 8 + 3 = 11
* Brian rolls: 1d20+12 => 10 + 12 = 22
Brian: God just stands there, waiting to see what you do
Christopher: I do nothing right now other than reload yonder boomstick.
Ignatius Stendatem: I gave you warning.
God: I made no threats to you.
God: I let you into my domain, restored you and the one you love.
Ignatius Stendatem: That's what you want me to believe, isn't it?
God: And tell me, what do you belive?
Ignatius Stendatem: This place reeks of indoctrination and ulterior motives.
Officer Constance Stendatem: You could at least be honest with us.
God: And your suspicions justify murder?
Ignatius Stendatem: They were already dead.
Officer Constance Stendatem: And as you yourself said, you could resurrect them once this matter blows over. Unless that was a lie, of course?
Brian: The blood red cracks between his scales ignite with rage.
Ignatius Stendatem: Nothing is outside the realm of possibilites for the great God, is it?
God: I AM FREEDOM FROM DEATH! YOU COME TO MY DOMAIN AND DESTROY EVERYTHING YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, AND CALL ME THE VILLIAN!
Ignatius Stendatem: I'm Macharian. It's what we do.
God: I could have left your hermit nation to rot in it's ignorance, and fall under the weight of it's own dead. I could have laughed at your short-sightedness, your unwillingness to face that there may be somthing after the grave. But I didn't. I gave you a way out!
You have disconnected.
Christopher has connected.
Boretos has connected.
Christopher: 31 antimana, 1 mana, 1 fire
Christopher: Anything more runs the risk of friendly fire.
Brian: why are you afraid to dispell Ignatious?
Christopher: It's not the dispel.
Christopher: It's the FIRE.
Brian: pussy...
Christopher: Also more would torch ME as well.
Christopher: Iggy can sorta take it.
Christopher: I can't.
Brian: isn't that more than one mana there?
Christopher: One point = 15ft radius
Brian: in a cone
Christopher: oh
Christopher: wait
Christopher: right, misread
Christopher: apologies
Christopher: 3 mana, 2 fire
Brian: kk
Brian: just roll one check for all the magic crap that God might or might not have.
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+5 => 14 + 5 = 19
Brian: Not much happens on God, but he starts to heat up.
Brian: Iggy?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( I throw alchemist's fire at him. ))
Christopher: 15 points of magic just evacuated that area, though.
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+7 => 13 + 7 = 20
Brian: hold on
Brian: ok, you hit.
* Boretos rolls: 1d6 => 1
Ignatius Stendatem: (( he's now on fire ))
Brian: twice
Ignatius Stendatem: (( sucks. ))
Brian: also, you hear a voice from somewhere
Christopher: does the heat effect ever affect terrain?
Confused Voice: What?
Confused Voice: What is going on?
Brian: yes, if it's not enough.
Brian: God goes for a grapple
Brian: roll 1d20+15
* Brian rolls: 1d20+15 => 10 + 15 = 25
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+8 => 17 + 8 = 25
Christopher: SUCK IT, GOD
Ignatius Stendatem: (( does he have improved grapple? ))
Brian: yes
Brian: way too many feats
Ignatius Stendatem: (( what now? ))
Brian: re-roll, no mods
* Brian rolls: 1d20 => 18
You have disconnected.
Christopher has connected.
Boretos has connected.
Brian has connected.
Brian2: ok, all I got was "reroll no mods"
Brian is disconnected.
Brian2: then I rolled 18
* Boretos rolls: 1d20 => 5
Christopher: thought grapple was a defender-wins scenario
Brian2: I couldn't tell you off hand...
Brian2: but sure, let's be nice to those about to die
Brian2: you two's turns
* Boretos rolls: 1d6 => 5
Christopher: shotgun to the temple, pull the trigger
Ignatius Stendatem: (( he takes 5 more damage. ))
Brian2: as well as
* Brian2 rolls: 2d4 => 7
Brian2: ok, 13 now
Christopher: Let's see.
Christopher: Roll to hit, I presume?
Brian2: yes. He is pinned, but not helpless
Christopher: Adam has just convinced me to manacle the poor sod.
Christopher: With his masterwork manacles.
Christopher: Should buy us at least a round.
Brian2: alright, you got him.
Christopher: MWAHAHAHA
Ignatius Stendatem: (( can I break free of him now? ))
Christopher: brb
Brian2: yes
Confused Voice: Please, tell me what's going on!
Brian2: your turn?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( yeah, I'll throw another alchemist's fire at him. ))
Brian2: Are you really trying to kill him slowly here?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( wait ))
Ignatius Stendatem: (( I have pistols. ))
Brian2: ding ding ding
Christopher: I also have a sawed-off shotgun.
Ignatius Stendatem: (( rifle, don't let me down. ))
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+6 => 18 + 6 = 24
Brian2: thats good enough to hit
* Boretos rolls: 3d6 => 12
God: Arrgh!
Ignatius Stendatem: So you're fueling your own life with the souls you've "saved", are you?
God: What?
Confused Voice: I... I don't know what you are talking about!
Ignatius Stendatem: Explain the voices.
You have disconnected.
Christopher has connected.
Boretos has connected.
Brian2 has connected.
God: There are no voices
Brian: he tries to break free
Brian2 is disconnected.
* Brian rolls: 1d20+6 => 4 + 6 = 10
Ignatius Stendatem: Don't play coy with me! The voices are all around!
Ignatius Stendatem: (( I go for a pistol shot ))
Brian: your turns
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+6 => 18 + 6 = 24
* Boretos rolls: 2d6 => 9
Brian: it hits and does more damage.
Ignatius Stendatem: (( Is he not taking damage or are you just hiding his health bar? ))
Brian: hiding it. But he looks pretty hurt.
Boretos: chris is afk again
Christopher: yo
Boretos: nvm
Christopher: Target his face, pull the trigger.
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+4 => 13 + 4 = 17
Brian: hits
* Christopher rolls: 5d8 => 26
Officer Constance Stendatem: You ever hear of the Wishmaster?
Officer Constance Stendatem: We killed her, too.
Ignatius Stendatem: (( more burning damage? ))
Brian: he looks almost desd
Brian: ohh right
* Brian rolls: 4d4 => 8
God: Please! Have mercy!
Ignatius Stendatem: (( His turn. ))
Brian: tries to escape
* Brian rolls: 1d20+6 => 14 + 6 = 20
Brian: yeah, nothing
Brian: your turns
Ignatius Stendatem: I never did get to thank you for killing me.
Ignatius Stendatem: (( pistol ))
* Boretos rolls: 1d20+6 => 15 + 6 = 21
Officer Constance Stendatem: (Think I'll deliver the final blow with the rapier, for the sake of starting a legacy. )
Brian: roll damage.
* Boretos rolls: 2d6 => 9
Brian: you might not get a chance...
Ignatius Stendatem: (( what rapier? ))
Brian: yeah, that kills him...
Ignatius Stendatem: Consider my debt repaid.
Christopher: Dead outright?
Christopher: Dayum.
Brian: the world begins to shake, and stones fall from the ceiling
Brian: not a normal mortal
Christopher: Ah, fair enough.
Christopher: I get in a stab anyway.
Ignatius Stendatem: (( he wouldn't happen to have any goodies on him, would he? ))
Ignatius Stendatem: (( immediately obvious ones, at least. ))
Brian: no. He's pretty much naked
Brian: ohh, and his scales go out.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Think we could get his head?
Ignatius Stendatem: (( for a second there I thought you said spikes, and had a mini heart attack. ))
Ignatius Stendatem: That's kinda demented, Constance.
Brian: I would like to remind you that spikes are falling from the ceiling.
Brian: I mean rocsk
Brian: rocks*
Ignatius Stendatem: Let's go. Perhaps the others know the way to safety.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Let's hope.
Officer Constance Stendatem: And if not, we can die knowing we've killed two daemons in our lifetime.
Officer Constance Stendatem: We need a way out of here YESTERDAY, people.
Verridian: What happened?
Ignatius Stendatem: God is dead.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Do you not see the cavern collapsing?
Officer Constance Stendatem: (I think perhaps I should reload.)
Old Guy: I was taught a spell to send us to the surface.
Old Guy: Everyone gather around me!
Ignatius Stendatem: Now he tells us...
Christopher: did they not hear the gunfire
Old Guy: This will return you to where you left to this place. May you finish God's mission in his stead!
Brian: He casts, and you are teleported.
Brian: you are now in front of the Ordos HQ building
Ignatius Stendatem: Constance, do you still have that totem and scroll I gave you?
Soldier 11: What the?!?
Christopher: I do.
Ignatius Stendatem: Relax, soldier.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Hey, what's up, we just killed God.
Ignatius Stendatem: I swear if 8 more years have passed...
Brian: Ekkhardt runs out
Officer Ekkhardt: What in the world?
Ignatius Stendatem: We're back.
Officer Ekkhardt: And?
Officer Constance Stendatem: We killed God.
Officer Ekkhardt: Just, shot him?
Ignatius Stendatem: It was pretty easy, actually.
Officer Constance Stendatem: Yeah, Ignatius here pinned him, I manacled him, and then we took turns unloading on him.
Officer Constance Stendatem: That's two daemons our little crew's killed, now.
Officer Ekkhardt: Well, first things first, we need to take you to an outside decontamination area, just to remove any curses
Officer Ekkhardt: Come with me.
Ignatius Stendatem: Right.
Brian: They build a tent right outside, which you are instructed to remain at. You are brought sleeping bags and foodstuffs.
Brian: This is about as good a stopping point as any, I suppose...
Christopher: Mmkay.
Christopher: We are badasses.
Boretos: And brian thought we were gonna die.
Brian: after you settle in, however, you hear a strange call from the distance...
voice: what? what is this?
Brian: good night,
Brian: be sure to save transcript and game
Boretos: yep
Brian: and pass me the transcript when you can
You have disconnected.
