Santoroski has connected.
wesley:
i assume no summary is needed
Santoroski:
they are deaded right
wesley:
everyone else, YOU ONLINE?
wesley:
yeah you killed them, and some small
talk happened
wesley:
base of operations
wesley:
alright, so after playing a somber
melody for the dead kyraz, the room falls silent, azure goes to
antonius body and starts trying to pull out the arrow she did him
in with, when she suddenly stops
wesley:
everyone make a spot check
* wesley rolls: 1d20+6 => 17 + 6 = 23
* wesley rolls: 1d20+12 => 7 + 12 = 19
Charl:
« 1d20+1
= 8 + 1 = 9 »
* Christopher rolls: 1d20-1 => 9 - 1 = 8
* Santoroski rolls: 1d20+4 => 7 + 4 = 11
Santoroski:
its okay i suck too
Christopher:
we don't see shit, basically
Guard 1:
Lady are you ok?
Spike hound:
*whines*
Azure:
I hear a voice....in my head
wesley:
the wolf starts gnawing at azure's
heels
Guard 1:
Heel Boy
Arnello:
Back, beast!
Guard 1:
He detects magic. It's what they've
been breed to do for generations
* Adam rolls: 1d20 => 12
Radiance:
Magic? Voices? I think now's the time
to leave
Azure:
Children.....Follow me.......
Azure:
Kyraz don't....follow
wesley:
she starts wandering towards the door
Radiance:
Arnello, stop her!
Guard 1:
I've got to report to the king. I'll
send for some kyraz to come to this area
Arnello:
Hold, everyone!
Arnello:
First we must observe. Kyraz please
stay back.
wesley:
you all suddenly hear this in the
distance
wesley:
also make a wisdom check
Radiance:
« 1d20+1
= 11 + 1 = 12 »
* Adam rolls: 1d20 => 13
* Christopher rolls: 1d20-1 => 16 - 1 = 15
Sir Krylis:
« 1d20
= 9 »
wesley:
everyone but krylis remembers this as
being a song that noontime often played
Arnello:
This can't be good...
wesley:
and everyone remembers that ageless
often play very odd battle hymns before making themselves known
Radiance:
Run.
Siroc:
I'm not sure even running can save us
now.
wesley:
before you can run....
Arnello:
Stand with dignity
Noontime:
CHILDREN, HOW I'VE MISSED YOU
Arnello: (( I pull back Azure. ))
Noontime:
come give your father a hug
Radiance:
Hello Father. Come to put us back in
your cells?
Arnello: (( ready an action to draw my sword if
he gets closer. ))
wesley:
suddenly, the light seems to fade from
his face. He starts speaking more somberly
Noontime:
No. That would defeat the purpose of
this excersize
Sir Krylis:
((i also ready an action to draw
weapons))
Noontime:
no, i've come to put the final part of
my plan into action
Noontime:
*removes his mask, showing a face that
looks like a broken porcelin doll* I've come to fix this battered
world
Radiance:
They... they were right. You let us
escape
Noontime:
*puts mask on the floor* you see, this
all started many many years ago. Before i took the mantle of
noontime even. In simpler times, back when I was edward, basterd
son of Godfrey. My father took me aside and told me I was a scion
of change, that i could fix this world.
Siroc:
*eyes discarded mask*
Noontime:
He coudln't have imagined that a
goddess would choose me as her champion to defend a backward
people from daemonic threat.
Noontime:
He also couldn't have imagined how we
ageless squandered this gift and made the goddess full of hate and
rage
Noontime:
Let me tell you my story
Arnello: (( pull up a chair, everyone. ))
Noontime:
a tale that in this modern time has
become twisted
wesley:
(it indeed is chair pull time)
Siroc:
(Unless anyone objects, I'm going to
ready an action to swipe that mask as soon as he looks distracted.)
Noontime:
Tell me, why do you think i killed
anara?
* wesley rolls: 1d20+35 => 17 + 35 = 52
Noontime:
*looking at siroc* taking my mask
would do you no good. It has to be willingly given up
Siroc:
Can you blame me for trying?
Noontime:
no. I suppose I can't
Noontime:
but back to the point, why would i
have killed anara, can anyone tell me?
Radiance:
I once believed that it was simply
because you were bored, and she seemed like fun to kill... But
something tells me you're not as dumb as you look
Arnello:
Envy, perhaps?
Noontime:
Why would i be envious, i in fact was
the more powerful
Radiance:
You must have known a war would start
Noontime:
precisely
Noontime:
but why would i want war?
Arnello:
More power seems like the most obvious
reason.
Noontime:
What would you say if i told you i
wasn't the first ageless to discover the vanguard?
Christopher:
cue morpheus glasses
wesley:
charl are you going to say anything or
should i keep going?
Radiance:
You must have known they were a
threat... So why did you provoke the Council?
Noontime:
Simple. My brother teatime had found
natan and both kept the existence of an entire civilization a
secret from their peers
Radiance:
What does that got to do with us?
Noontime:
in due time my darling daughter. You
see, teatime and natan wished to combine research and to be the
only two immortals. and knowing those two once they had enough
power to be the only two immortals they'd probably turn on
eachother
Noontime:
I had to put a stop to this, but no
ageless would believe me
Noontime:
not even my darling little sister
sunset believed me
Noontime:
so i had to do something dirastic
Noontime:
cause a war
Noontime:
i hoped that this would force the two
to fight, or at least part ways temporarily while i figured out a
more permanent solution. But they weren't even loyal to their own
kind. They treated the war as a testing field for their science.
And when one side started winning then the two would put more
science towards the other side
Noontime:
my plan was a resounding failure. but
it did lead to discovery. For example, I discovered Damean, a man
who might be able to stop Natan and teatime, given the proper
guidance. And more importantly, i discovered the masks powers
could be transfered
Noontime:
*picks the mask back up and turns it
in his hand so he's looking at it's face* darktime was always sick
in the head. I suppose it takes a sort of mental sickness to want
to give away this sort of power.
Noontime:
But, the war also helped natan and
teatime. They took the mask of moonlight after the smoke died down
following her untimely demise
Radiance:
I thought the masks needed to be
willingly given away
Noontime:
It is my belief that they have
discovered a way to steal the power of the masks
Arnello:
That would certainly make it possible
to become the most powerful Ageless.
Noontime:
Precisely "jester to kings"
Radiance:
The last one who had but two masks
went mad
Siroc:
Presumably they've found a way around
that. Or are working on one.
Sir Krylis:
Teatime is already mad.
Noontime:
And this is where you come in. I left
enough clues for Damean to find Natan, and for him to find out
what he has done, and I lead him to some powerful allies to help
him. But it wouldn't be enough. They'd need an ageless. But Damean
wants to kill me. And I can't blame him. I needed to find someone
to use my power
Noontime:
My time on this world has drawn on too
long
Noontime:
I have done what I can to make it
better, many will say I have failed
Noontime:
I want to leave behind people that can
make the world better, people who can fix the ageless, keep the
goddess imprisoned without destroying the world in the process
Siroc:
Fixing the Ageless might require
replacing them all first... by force.
Noontime:
*throws mask to the floor, and it
breaks into four pieces, landing in front of each of you* For the
sake of the world, I relinquish my power, and step aside so that
the next generation might be better for my mistakes
Siroc:
What becomes of you now? I have to ask.
Radiance:
... Its oblivion, isn't it?
Noontime:
Damean is going to kill me. then, the
goddess will have me
Noontime:
Damean doesn't know where natan is.
Tell him that Natan hides in the city of power
Noontime:
If you should survive this, please,
make sure someone gets the story straight
Noontime:
that somehow, the true story survives
Siroc:
You're talking to a group with two
storytellers. I don't think that's a concern.
Arnello:
heh.
Noontime:
*turns away* that this doesn't stay
twisted *walks out the door*
Siroc:
So the crazy one was actually the sane
one all along. Who'd have guessed?
Radiance:
*murmuring* The king is dead. Long
live his heirs.
Azure:
....isn't anyone going to...follow the
old man?
Siroc:
The courts would have been a social
experiment...
Siroc:
I will.
Arnello: (( I pick up the mask fragment. ))
Siroc:
(I do that on my way out.)
Radiance:
Where are you going, father?
Siroc:
Think about this for a moment. What is
gained by your death now?
Sir Krylis:
((i pick up mine as well))
Noontime:
he approaches
Noontime:
In order for their to be peace i must
die
Siroc:
I doubt that there ever will be peace.
We could at least use you as a shock troop.
You whisper to Christopher: as
an arcanist you can feel a huge storm of power approaching
You whisper to Charl: as an
arcanist you can feel a huge storm of power approaching
Siroc:
Whoa.
Noontime:
He will kill me. it is my punishment
wesley:
there is a flash of light than a man
you've never seen before appears
Siroc:
Krylis! Grab the old man and let's
move.
damean:
This ends now noontime
Noontime:
YOU ARE POWERLESS AGAINST THE AGELESS
DAMEAN
Radiance:
He's lying even now?!
wesley:
if you want to do something go ahead
and roll init
Sir Krylis:
Noontime is repenting, and I seriously
doubt we can force him against his will.
Siroc:
You're useless, Krylis.
Sir Krylis:
This is the path he's chosen, for him
and for us.
Arnello:
Um... you two know each other?
Siroc:
Are you content to let a man commit
suicide right in front of you?!
Siroc:
I'm certainly not strong enough to
hold him down!
wesley:
again, if you're doing something roll
init otherwise
Sir Krylis:
And you think I am?
Radiance:
*whispering* Are you sure you wish to
give up your immortality?
Arnello: (( I'm rolling ))
* Adam rolls: 1d20+4 => 16 + 4 = 20
* wesley rolls: 1d20+8 => 1 + 8 = 9
* wesley rolls: 1d20+6 => 16 + 6 = 22
wesley:
noontime goes first
Siroc:
Have it your way, Krylis. If there's
nothing left for us to do, I'm getting out of here. Shame we have
to waste such a powerful ally.
wesley:
noontime split channels arcana and
storm
* wesley rolls: 2d6 => 5
* wesley rolls: 2d6 => 11
wesley:
and he starts to fly 25 feet abouve
the ground
* Christopher rolls: 1d20+4 => 14 + 4 = 18
Arnello: (( perform chekc ))
* Adam rolls: 1d20+10 => 13 + 10 = 23
Siroc:
I, for one, intend to survive this,
with or without Noontime.
Radiance:
He's our father, Siroc!
Siroc:
THEN ONE OF YOU, DO SOMETHING. I'm as
weak as a wet noodle!
Sir Krylis:
And he's sacrificed himself for us.
Without the mask, he'll soon die anyways.
Azure:
He wants it this way
Radiance:
Then I suppose we have no choice
Sir Krylis:
I know we've been fighting him, but I
hardly think this of all times to go against his will.
Sir Krylis:
this is the time to*
wesley:
alright, damean starts channeling
* wesley rolls: 13d6 => 55
* wesley rolls: 8d4 => 20
Siroc:
Bring him or don't, but we're not
going to survive this if we stand and fight.
* wesley rolls: 1d20+16 => 3 + 16 = 19
Santoroski:
((I hop on the speederbike and wave
someone else on
wesley:
god damean stop rolling like not a god
* wesley rolls: 36d6 => 126
wesley:
and noontime gets cooked alive
damean:
THAT'S FOR ANARA, AND FOR OUR GREAT
GREAT GRANDSON, AND FOR EVERY SOUL LOST TO YOUR MADNESS
damean:
*slumps over* you slaves are free now
damean:
*sits down*
Radiance:
...Yes... free...
Arnello:
One down...
Arnello:
One more, I should say.
Azure:
*under her breath* arnello, show some
respect
Siroc:
Hrm. He got anything else?
Siroc:
I mean, why let good gear go to waste?
Arnello:
and you're mad at me for being
disrespectful?
wesley:
i'll give you loots later
Radiance:
Say, um... Sir. Am I speaking to the
great and powerful Dameon?
damean:
you heard of me? I heard children of
the ageless barely got feed, let alone educated
Siroc:
Straight from "don't let him kill
Father" to this?
damean:
yes i'm damean
Azure:
*still under breath* it's what your
father wanted
damean:
and who might you be?
Radiance:
I'm just a scullery maid that he
locked up for stealing a book, sir. *shhhhes Siroc* I have some
information that the ... um dreadful Noontime was foolish enough
to let us know
damean:
oh yeah, and what would terrible old
father not want me to know?
Radiance:
That Natan is conspiring with Teatime
to do something horrid beyond words, and they're hiding out in the
city of ...Power... I think he called it
damean:
I already knew they were conspiring.
But power...It always does seem to lead back to those cursed
cities. Children, could you lend me your steel against your black
hearted uncle?
Sir Krylis:
Any enemy of Teatime is an enemy of
ours.
Radiance:
*winks at party* I think we may be of
some assistance
You whisper to Santoroski: also
your letter has stopped glowing
damean:
Perfect
Sir Krylis whispers: as in a
message has been sent or as in its not magic anymore
damean:
gather what you need, it's a long hike
there, i'd prefer to be fresh if i have to face those monsters
You whisper to Santoroski: the
2nd one francesca gave you that couldn't be opened is now not glowing
anymore
Sir Krylis whispers: oh well
once we leave damean i read it
wesley:
that's all i've got, besides giving
loots and levels, dameans going to walk to the city of time so he
has all his channels going into the last encounter
Charl:
So what do the masks do?
Charl:
*mask fragments I mean
wesley:
first of, simple possession of them
lets you feel the goddess's power flowing through you
Santoroski:
we just get 5 sorc levels?
wesley:
but yes that's your big ticket item
wesley:
dude you sucked as a fighter anyways
Santoroski:
i almost had parry tho
wesley:
wearing the mask makes you instantly
identifiable as an ageless, grants a +8 to all senses, and a +4 to
cha
Santoroski:
its ok i will now try the hybrid
fighting
Christopher:
well, you can pick it up in the levels
grnted anyway
wesley:
yeah you still get 2 feats for level
wesley:
though smart money has one of those on
shared channel so you can battery power
Santoroski:
smarter money has it on still spell so
i can actually do things QQ
wesley:
i need to ask if brian intended still
spell to make armor casting viable
Santoroski:
i believe it does in phb
wesley:
yeah but it also raises the level of
spell in phb
Christopher:
it just levels the hell out of the
spell
wesley:
now it's just a feat
Charl:
Are we immortal now?
Santoroski:
yeah if spells lack somatic spells
they dont have spell failure
Christopher:
and totally inane cosmetic question,
how did the mask split?
Christopher:
like, what are the chunks?
Santoroski:
what if it broke in layers and we all
have paper thin ones XD
Charl:
I'd imagine it'd be down the middle
and into fourths.. the mask is already conveniently split into
quadrants
Christopher:
that was my theory
Santoroski:
so what else is there for loot
Charl:
Look gueys, I'm wearing a mask
Santoroski:
how does multiclassing saves work?
Santoroski:
just additive
Christopher:
also how are we putting broken mask
pieces on...
Christopher:
what attaches the
wesley:
yeah, unless they get to far away
wesley:
but SORC IS YOUR GUYS FAVORED CLASS
Christopher:
and yes, one advantage of
multiclassing is that you get crazy good saves
wesley:
ok, mask is split into corners but you
can change the "mask" to being any item at this point
Santoroski:
what do you mean any item
wesley:
also, noontime had a gaudy sword that
grants the user +2 cha and on top of that is a flaming holy sword
Christopher:
I'm going to keep it as face slot,
just put it into a leather cowl or something.
wesley:
i mean you can use magic to make it
into a necklace, or a ring, or whatever
Charl:
I like the quadrant look
wesley:
but it still has magic of the goddes
flowing through it so it's instantly identifiable to any competent
mage
Santoroski:
i uh... i use swords
wesley:
yeah and you have a low cha
Christopher:
wait what holy
Christopher:
NOONTIME WAS GOOD?!
Santoroski:
no? i have 18 cha now
wesley:
or he made it holy knowing he'd die
and you could use it
wesley:
yeah but i'm about possitive everyone
else has you beat. but whatever
wesley:
anyways, do you guys need anything
else?
Santoroski:
do we also get a regular level up or
just the 5 sorcs
Charl:
Does the mask make us immortal, or are
we gonna find that out later?
Santoroski:
and also how do the saves work when we
multiclass
wesley:
ok, from easiest to answer to hardest
wesley:
saves work additavely multiclassing is
great for saves
wesley:
you also get one more level but i
thought i'd be nice and let you know you're all stuck with 5 sorc
levels and give you the option of taking a 6th on or taking a 5th
in your other class
wesley:
you aren't sure if you're immortal but
your body certainly feels different
Christopher:
i'll see what give me more magic
Charl:
F**k yea lvl 10 sorc
wesley:
6th sorc grants 3rd level channels
wesley:
5th bard does SHIT
Santoroski:
same with 5th fighter lol
wesley:
also you might want to coordinate on
what spell types you choose
Santoroski:
literally nothing
Christopher:
and d6s hate my guts, so my health may
double from the 6d4
wesley:
at least 5th fighter gives notably
more hp
Santoroski:
im only gonna take buff categories
Santoroski:
aight we good to go?
Christopher:
I might do some weird shit like
anti-mana and arcana
Charl:
Well, there are 30 something spell
types, and five levels each mean we have to choose 10 to leave out
Christopher:
but at least one attack energy
Christopher:
well, some of us get 6
wesley:
except charl, you already have 5
Charl:
Then I think we can cover everything
Santoroski:
y/n can i leave my friends are
harrassing me
wesley:
you can get all sorc available energy
types, remember there are about 6 energies sorcs don't get
wesley:
get out santoroski
Santoroski:
peace good session
wesley:
WHY WONT SENPAI NOTICE ME CHARL?
Santoroski is disconnected.
Charl:
Because you're late for school
wesley:
I THOUGHT THAT MADE ME QUIRKY AND
RELATABLE
You whisper to Adam: what do
you intend to do now
Azure:
this sort of changes everything
Charl:
That means you have to sit at the back
with the mysterious transfer student
wesley:
sorry, azure was supposed to whisper
to adam, please disregard party
Adam whispers: Sorry I'm
getting ready to go. I forgot I'm leaving the house at 4.
Adam whispers: I'm multi tasking
You whisper to Adam: alright
but azure totally needs to react to this
You whisper to Adam: when will
you be back
Siroc:
Looks like we'll be getting that
kingdom after all, eh Radiance?
Adam whispers: I mean the
ceremony starts at 7, so probably not til at least 9.
Arnello whispers: Well, I
certainly have mixed feelings about all of this. I'm not sure what or
who to believe anymore.
Radiance:
There wasn't a question of whether or
not we were. Now its just going to happen sooner
You whisper to Adam: It's hard.
But....I think the only difference between now and then is that we see
more of the picture, and that you now have more power to bring about
change
Radiance:
Father taught me something important.
Falsehood, to others or even to yourself, is sometimes the path to
righteousness
Radiance:
What matters is who you decide to tell
the truth
Arnello whispers: I suppose
you're right. The mission remains the same. We must free those who the
Ageless enslaved.
Player "arnello" is not connected.
Siroc:
The Kyraz king mentioned wanting us to
clear out an area to the west, and noticably lacked objection when
I suggested we use some of that territory for our kingdom...
Player "arnello" is not connected.
You whisper to Adam: the only
diference now Giacomo is that you also stand between those people and
the goddess. My love, you musn't forget that
Siroc:
Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Radiance:
I expect that Teatime won't be the
last ageless we encounter. A kingdom to the West sounds promising,
but I get the feeling we
Radiance:
'll return south sooner or later
Siroc:
And we could have a lovely, large
domain if we can link the inevitable Ageless territory gains with
our western holdings.
wesley:
alright, well i'm saving the
transcript now then closing the campaign, if you want to do
anymore rping before kicking the door in on some gods then tell me
Christopher:
nah i'm good
